Editorial Director: Bolesław Faron, Prof. Education Publishers, Ltd. was founded in Warsaw in February 1993. In 1995 we moved and settled in Krakow. We have been on the market for 12 years. So far, we have published over 170 editions, including 10 teaching programmes and 17 coursebooks to reformed primary school, secondary and high school. We specialize in publishing textbooks on the humanities. To lubię! (I like it!) is our leading series. It is a book series on teaching Polish language at primary school, secondary and high school. In our offering there are coursebooks on mathemaics to primary school, with additional approaches for students with difficulty in learning. We also provide textbooks on computer science to secondary school as well as textbooks on biology to secondary school and high school. Our offering is supplemented by mindfully devised content-related and methodological teaching and learning aids. These are syllabuses, progress tests, additional texts and lesson plans. Futhermore, since 1991 the Education Publishers, Ltd. has been releasing Nowa Polszczyzna (New Polish Language) every other month. It is a magazine for teachers of Polish language and the humanities.
As a reasult of our direct cooperation with various academic centres (among which there is Academy of Pedagogy in Cracow and Jagiellonian University) are the scholarly publications reviewing mainly pedagogical skills and history of literature.
In reply to the needs of the teachers who work with our textbooks, the Education Publisher, Ltd. has been running professional training courses for current and advanced methodologies. It has been in progress since we originated. The success is secure thanks to the association with Jagiellonian University and other universities and colleges including the Teachers' Improving Centres from all over the country. So far, about 6,000 teachers have benefitted from our professional training course offerings.
We also present educational books for the youngest and bilingual (Polish - German) choices of modern poetry and prose.
Education Publishers, Ltd. is planning to supplement its outline with editions for children between 3 and 7 (nursery school), publications on European integration and multimedial software.
We have made numerous contancts with teachers of various subjects all over the country and we are in touch with many distributors. We also have our regional representatives.
Our Jubilee Year initiated charity action for school children from the poor regions of Poland. Its purpose is to provide the students of primary and secondary schools with free sets of coursebooks for the coming school year 2003/2004.
